Benjamin Samuel Hurd of Morris was born on Nov. 25, 1975 and was tragically lost on Dec. 2, 2022. He was survived by his wife of 16 years, Christine, and his two beautiful daughters Hazel Grace and Linden August. He also leaves behind his nieces Ella and Kyla and nephews Joseph and August.

He worked at H.O. Penn in Newington transporting critical equipment between facilities. Ben and Christine also owned a small apiary providing services as beekeepers and environmental advocates. Ben was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Woodbury where he was baptized later in life.

He was a loving husband, father, uncle, godfather and friend. Ben had a tremendous appreciation for nature, was a skilled arborist, and loved Star Wars. He volunteered for Team in Training with his wife cycling over 100 miles around Lake Tahoe to raise funds and awareness for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Ben was a guest on the podcast Hammer Lane Legends episode 126 sharing stories from his experiences on the road.

His love for his family and friends ran deep. He was a kind, talented, and generous soul who will be missed dearly.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday December 17th 11:00am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 294 Main Street South, in Woodbury.  A Celebration of Bens Life following the memorial service at The Whittemore at Vyne, 1365 Whittemore Rd., Middlebury, CT 06762 Time: 1pm to 4pm
