Barry R. Curina, 57, of Tamarack Lane, died peacefully after a six year battle with cancer. He died with his wife and mother in law by his side on Monday May 24, 2010 in his home. He was the husband of Sharon (Jarr) Curina, for over 15 years. Mr. Curina was born May 29, 1952 in Derby, son of the late Ivan and Iris (Rudnitsky) Curina. Mr. Curina graduated St. Mary's Grammar school, Derby High School, as well as the American Institute of Banking. He loved to cook and fish with his son and Chuck Livolsi. He also enjoyed playing golf with his longtime friends at the Grassy Hill Country Club in Orange, and during April vacations in New Smyrna Beach with his Canadian friends. Mr. Curina worked for the Town of Bethel for over 28 years as Comptroller, where he was instrumental with the upgrade of 3 bond rating agencies which is credited to his years of vigilance on behalf of the town.
Besides his wife he is survived by his mother in law Lorraine Jarr, his daughter Kristen Livolsi of East Hampton, Ct and her children Ryan and Jessalyn of Naugatuck, a son Jeffrey Curina and his wife Amy, their newborn son Dalton Barry of Seymour, 2 brothers Bruce Curina of Shelton, Brian Curina and his wife Mercedes and their children Nicholas and Emily of Seymour.

Funeral: St. Teresa's Church
Services: A funeral mass with be held Friday May 28 at 10 am at St Teresa's church Main Street South in Woodbury. Burial services will be held privately.
Visitation: Friends may call the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere,2 School Street on Thursday May 27 from 5 to 8 pm.
