WOODBURY- Barbara (Bean) Pollard, 71, of Woodbury, died peacefully Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at St, Marys VITAS Innovative Unit. She was the wife of Charles A. Pollard.
Barbara was born June 15, 1941 in Randolph, VT, daughter of the late Earl C. and Lillian (Erskine) Bean. She grew up in Northfield, VT before moving to Southbury with her husband. Barbara worked for New Milford Hospital and the Southbury Training School, for which she worked for 25 years, retiring in 1997.
In 1970, 43 years ago, Barbara received a kidney transplant at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Having her kidney this long was somewhat of a medical miracle. Her son was born in 1972 which is also somewhat of a miracle.
Besides her husband of 53 years, she leaves her son Richard Pollard and two precious grandsons and daughter in-law of Lowell, MA. She also leaves her sister and brother in-law Janice and Clem Boudreau of VT, a sister in-law Anna Bean of Oklahoma, a sister in-law Helen Pollard of MA, a sister in-law Joan and brother in-law Lonnie Cruickshank of VT, and several nieces and nephews.She leaves many dear friends and especially Pat and Ronald Turmel and Dr. O. J. Bizzozero, Jr. for caring for her for so many years.
She was predeceased by a brother Avon.
Barbara will be laid to rest in Berlin, VT at a later date.

Services: A Memorial service will begin Tuesday, March 12 at 6: 30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Visitation: Calling hours will be held Tuesday March 12th from 4- 7 p.m. at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 2 School St.
