Obituary

Arlene Noecker Calahan, 92, formerly of Nazareth, PA and Orillia, Ontario, died May 9, 2008 at her home in Pomperaug Woods, Southbury. Born July 13, 1915 in Nazareth to Clarence and Mayme Fehnel, she was the widow of John H. Calahan III. She graduated from Nazareth area schools, West Chester State Teachers College and Lehigh University where she earned her Masters Degree in education. She taught at the Shafer Elementary School in Nazareth. Arlene was active in the Women's Clubs and Republican politics before moving to Canada in 1966. She was an avid duplicate bridge player and golfer. Her brother, Bud Fehnel and her sister, Doris Ingenthron predeceased her. Survivors include her daughter, Judy Sonnemann and her husband, David, her son Jeffrey Noecker and his wife Patricia, 4 grandchildren and one great grandson.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 200 South Broad St, Nazareth, PA, 18064-2801.

Location: Munson-Lovetere Southbury

Services: Burial will be at Green Mount Cemetery, Bath, PA, at the convenience of the family
