Antoinette Vernuccio, 93, died Wednesday November 5, 2014 at Masonicare at Newtown. She was the wife of the late Sam Vernuccio for 59 years. A longtime resident of Bridgeport until moving to Sandy Hook fifteen years ago. Mrs. Vernuccio was born on August 28, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Joseph Gentile of Siracusa, Sicily and the late Marietta Destacio Turro of Fairfield she is pre-deceased by her brother Eugene Gentile of Fairfield.
She leaves two daughters, Marie and her husband Bob Saksa of Shelton and Dianna Villafana and her companion Bill Bentham of Sandy Hook. Four grandchildren, Darrin Villafana and his wife Suzzette, Tina Saksa, Robert Saksa and his wife Kari, and JoAnne Saksa. Six great grandchildren, Melissa, Dillon, Veronica, Nicole, Savannah, and Gia.
She worked at the Trim Fashion Dress Shop in Fairfield for many years. She was a member of the Merry Makers of Bridgeport a song and dance troop performing at nursing homes and senior centers. Antoinette loved music, singing, dancing, gardening, crafts, walking, and she was especially gifted at crochet. She was loved by many and will be missed.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Almost Home Adult Daycare, 52 Federal Road, Danbury, CT 06810 where Antoinette spent five fun filled years making many friends.

Services: A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, November 15, at 12: 00 p.m. (Noon) at St Rose of Lima Church in 46 Church Hill Rd, Newtown, CT.
