Anthony Gabriele, 78, of Waterbury, passed away on Thursday April 27, 2017 at Waterbury Hospital after a long illness. Anthony was born in Waterbury on June 6, 1938, the son of the late Giovanni Gabriele and Anna Maria (Ciarlariello) Gabriele.  "Tony" served his country faithfully in the United States Army Reserves until his retirement. He also enjoyed driving the school bus for special needs children.

Anthony is survived by his 3 brothers: John Gabriele (& his wife Barbara); Mike Gabriele (& his late wife Bianca); and Nick Gabriele (& his late wife Carolyn), and by 9 nieces & nephews; 12 Great nieces & nephews, and 5 Great-Great nieces & nephews.

Anthony will be fondly remembered for his passion of fishing, and also for his love of music, expertly playing his clarinet and saxophone in marching bands, and many concerts at Waterbury Library Park.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 5, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Woodbury, CT.    Services will be at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School St., Woodbury, from 9:30-10:30.
