Anthony Arthur DeFelice

Anthony Arthur DeFelice, 81, of Woodbury, died Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Village at East Farms in Waterbury, CT. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie (Dastoli) DeFelice.

Mr. DeFelice was born July 3, 1925, in Brooklyn, NY, the youngest of 13 children. He was the son of the late Felice and Marie (Funicello) DeFelice.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the USS Champlain and was stationed in northern Africa and Sicily.

A longtime resident of Stamford, CT, Mr. DeFelice started his career as a butcher and became business owner until retirement.

Mr. DeFelice retired and moved to Woodbury, CT, to be near his family and pursue his lifetime passion for golf. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be remembered for his great wit and humor.

He was a member of the American Legion and the Men's Senior Golf League at Crestbrook. He was also a communicant of St. Theresa's Church of Woodbury, CT.

Besides his loving wife, he leaves two sons, Michael DeFelice and his wife, Chris of Pawlet, VT; Ron DeFelice and his wife Cindy of Newtown, CT; and a daughter, Nancy Woodside and her husband, Robert, of Southbury, CT. He is also survived by his brother, Phil DeFelice of Stamford, CT; sisters, Anne Johnson of Naples, FL and Kitty Garzetta of Millerton, NY; six grandchildren, Mia DeFelice, Travis Woodside, Tyler Woodside, Colin Woodside, Lauren DeFelice, and Nicole DeFelice, and the late Ryan DeFelice.

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theresa's Church in Woodbury. The Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 2 School St., is in charge of arrangements.
