Chick Mucherino

WATERTOWN- Mr. Anthony J. (Chick) Mucherino, 80, of 31 Adams Road, died peacefully Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Waterbury Hospital with his family by his side. He was the husband of Lillian D. (Harris) Mucherino.
Mr. Mucherino was born December 13, 1925 in Bridgeport, CT, son of the late Anthony and Eleanor (Barry) Mucherino. He was a retired iron worker, having been employed through Local 424, New Haven. He has resided in Watertown for the past 7 years, previously living in Naples, Florida. While in Naples, he was a member of the Palm River Country Club. Mr. Mucherino was also member of the German Club and the Italian Club in Bridgeport.
He was an avid golfer and a well known running back for semi professional football teams. He was a fan of the NY Giants and Notre Dame Football teams. He was a communicant of St. Andrews Church in Bridgeport. Mr. Mucherino was a US Army veteran of WW II, having served in Italy with Company B 185th Combat Battalion. He received the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal and the American Campaign Medal.
His laughter, kindness and total devotion to his family and friends will never be forgotten.
Besides his wife of 60 years, he leaves a son, John (Pat) Mucherino and his wife Lana of Oxford and a daughter Dale Romeo of Watertown, two brothers Eugene (Chuck) Mucherino and his wife Shirley of Alford, FL and Daniel Mucherino and his wife Dimples of Marshfield, VT. Also 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister Lucille Barrow and a nephew Eugene Mucherino.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Andrews Church 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport, CT; on Saturday, July 29th at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School St., Woodbury is in charge of arrangements.
