Anne L. Rowell died peacefully on Friday, January 5, 2007 at Ashlar of Newtown, CT, at the age of 91. She was the daughter of Emil and Hilda (Kauppila) Pesonen who emigrated from Finland in 1902.

Born and raised in Hancock, Michigan, she has resided in Woodbury, CT for over 50 years with her husband, Douglas W. Rowell Sr. who survives her as do her two sons, Douglas W. Jr. of Southbury and James P. of Stockton, New Jersey.

Anne was a long-time member of the North Congregational Church in Woodbury. She was the sister of Gertrude Koppana, Kirsti Miller, Paul Pesonen, Carrie Pesonen, Ingri Immonen, and Peter Pesonen who have all predeceased her.
