Anne Elizabeth Ramsey Schorr (né©e Anne Elizabeth Ramsey) was born in Paterson, NJ on September 18th 1927 to Louise Simonds Ramsey and Harold Alonzo Ramsey. She passed away on October 12, 2014 after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. Anne and her husband Harold Paul Schorr lived in Oakland, NJ from 1949-1986 when they retired to Southbury, CT. She is survived by her two children, Todd Regan Schorr of Los Angeles, CA and Susan Carroll Schorr of Nyon, Switzerland, her grandchildren, Jacob Alonzo Kreier (Skidmore College) and Freda Aullene Kreier (Colorado College), as well as her daughter-in-law Kathy Staico Schorr and her son-in-law, Jesse George Kreier.
Raised in Wycoff, NJ, Anne attended Linden Hall School (Lititz, PA) and Russell Sage College (Troy, NY). Once her children started primary school, she resumed her studies, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Fairleigh Dickinson University (Teaneck, NJ). She worked as a Special Education teacher in the public school system in Oakland, NJ but left her teaching job, after her husband fell ill, to support the family business, Promart, originally opened in Oakland and later re-located to Ringwood, NJ.
Once retired, Anne traveled extensively in Europe, gardened, flew small planes as an amateur pilot, enjoyed waltzing with her husband and cultivated friendships old and new. Anne was blessed by the most positive spirit imaginable. Even with her battle with cancer, she always said she had nothing to complain about.
