Anne Christine Verrastro Brown age 88 of Rocky Point, formerly of Woodbury, CT, passed peacefully at home Friday January 27, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Aug. 26, 1934 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Andrew Verrastro and Ida Jarrett . She was also predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Richard C. Brown Sr.

She is survived by her children Holly Talarico, (Joseph) NC, Robin Newberg (Steve) CT, Richard C Brown Jr. (Amber) NH, Sheri Witthoft (Michael) WA, Susan Torres (Tito) CT, and Steven Rogers (Gina) FL; 13 Grandchildren; 23 Great-grandchildren; and 1 Great great grandson;  her Sisters Marion Hennequin, CT, Antoinette Impresa, FL and Janice Zembruski, CT; sister in Law Lois Zane, CT; many nieces and nephews as well as cousins.

Anne left a legacy of love. She grew up in Waterbury, CT and was a Graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Waterbury. She worked in The Waterbury Savings Bank, Charcoal Chef in Woodbury, teachers aid, the family business, and catering.

She was a long time Girl Scout leader and Leader Trainer for Connecticut Trails Council. Anne loved camping at Kettletown State Park with family, vegetable gardening, and supporting her family in all of their activities.  Especially supporting Richard and the American Legion Burton-Bradley Post, she was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to travel and volunteered for just about everything.

The family would like to thank our hospice nurse, Ivy, for her wonderful caring and support.

Services will be held at graveside in CT, at the convenience of the families.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Girl Scouts of Connecticut, The American Legion The Burton-Bradly Post #155, or the Girl Guide Association of Hong Kong.

A service to celebrate the legacy of her love and life will be held on April 1, 2023 at 1:00pm at the family gravesite New North Cemetery, Woodbury, CT.
