Ann Buckwald, a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many, passed away on February 3, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 20, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, Ann's vibrant spirit and kind heart touched everyone she met.

Ann's journey with her high school sweetheart and beloved husband, Harvey Buckwald, began on December 19, 1957, marking the start of a loving partnership that was filled with joy and countless memories. Together, they built a life that was rich in love and laughter, welcoming three wonderful children into the world: Scott, Lauren, and Karen. Ann's role as a mother was one of her greatest joys, and she was always there for her children and a source of support and encouragement.

Her love and guidance extended to her cherished grandchildren, Theo, Julia, and Tyler, who brought immense joy to her later years. Ann's legacy of kindness, resilience, and unconditional love will forever live on through them. Survivors who undoubtedly will miss Ann's love include her brother Dickie and his wife Susan, her sister-in-law Ronni Buckwald Moss and her nephews and nieces and her daughter-in-law Marina Buckwald and son-in-law, Michael DiMartino.

Ann's life journey took her from Brooklyn, NY where she graduated from Lincoln High School to Englishtown, New Jersey, in 1967. In 1975, she and her family found themselves in the scenic beauty of Pleasant Valley, New York, where they created many happy memories. For many of those years in Pleasant Valley, Ann worked as a Paralegal Secretary. For the last 15 years, Ann called Southbury, Connecticut, her home.

Throughout her life, Ann remained a Brooklyn girl at heart, carrying with her the strength, wit, and enduring spirit of her roots. Her unwavering support for her loved ones, and her infectious sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

As we say goodbye to Ann Buckwald, we celebrate a life well-lived and a woman deeply loved. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her, and her memory will be cherished forever. Ann's family invites friends and loved ones to join in a celebration of her life, to share stories, laughter, and tears, as they honor a remarkable woman whose light will never fade.
