Mrs. Anita (Scott) Maestas, 89, of Southbury, died Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Southington Care Center. She was the widow of David L. Maestas. Anita was born November 11, 1919 in West Haven, daughter of the late Leon and Mary (Sweeney) Scott. Anita was the office manager for the Newtown Bee Antiques And the Arts Weekly newspaper, retiring 5 years ago. She loved her job very much, always arriving early in the morning and also enjoyed traveling with her family in the car. She was lovingly cared for by her niece, Janice Hager and her husband Anthony of Cheshire; she is also survived by her brother-in-law David J. Burke of Woodbridge and several nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sisters, Mary Stephani and Ethel Burke, and her brother, Leon Scott.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Cemetery: Pine Hill Cemetery

Location: Munson-Lovetere Southbury

Funeral: Sacred Heart Church

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 9: 00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St. South, Southbury. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Southbury.

Visitation: There are no calling hours.
