SOUTHBURY - Anella Boate of Southbury died, Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at the Masonic Home's Lockwood Lodge, in Newtown, CT, at the age of 84. She was the daughter of Maddalena Gallotta and Francesco Armenia, and was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, George Boate.
Nell was born in Brooklyn, NY, and attended Girls' Commercial High School. Upon graduation, she began working at The Hartford Accident and Indemnity Company. After being a stay-at-home mom for many years, she resumed employment with the New York Telephone Company in 1968, working as a Customer Service Representative for 21 years. While living in Brooklyn, Nell was actively involved in The Rosary Society at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish. She was also an avid gardener, growing beautiful roses and tomatoes in her small back yard. Wanting to be closer to her children, Nell and George relocated to Heritage Village in 1993.
Left behind to fondly remember Nell are her children, Carleen Falconer and her husband Robert Falconer of Roxbury, CT; Kenan Boate and his wife Mary Ellen of Pleasantville, NY; and Marise Jung of Southbury, CT; her grandchildren: Brittany and Kevin Falconer, Ryan and Christopher Boate, and Jillian and Joanna Jung; her sisters, Angelina Piacenti of Brooklyn, NY and Josephine Bolton of Staten Island, NY. Her brothers, John and Louis Armenia predeceased her.
Memorials: The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Teresa of Avila Church, Woodbury, CT.

Services: A Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Teresa of Avila Church, in Woodbury, CT on Monday, August 10th, at 10: 00 AM. Burial will follow at the Long Island National Cemetery, in Farmingdale NY.
Visitation: Calling hours will be on Sunday, August 9th from 1: 00 - 5: 00 PM, at the Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, in Southbury, CT.
