Dr. Alvin Peace Newman, 64, died peacefully in Newton, Massachusetts surrounded by his children after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved father of Jason Newman and his wife Angela Allevi, Stephanie (Newman) Morris and her husband Christopher Morris, and Kirsten Newman and her fiance Seth Walton, a brother Martin Newman and his wife Selma and their children, Richard and Staurt. He was also the husband of Linda (Schott) Newman.
Dr. Newman was born August 15, 2009 in Brooklyn, New York, son of Paula (Zugmann) Newman and the late Sam Newman. He was a diplomat and civil engineer for USAID working in the developing world on water resource development and disaster relief projects. His lifelong commitment to the developing world allowed him to fulfill his passion for travel and building his collection of fine art and textiles.
Dr. Newman resided in Washington, CT since 2000 where it became his home and a home for his children and grandchildren to gather frequently.
He is also survived by his four grandsons, Benjamin Morris, Owen Newman, Jacob Morris, and Evan Newman.

Services: Funeral service will be held on Sunday December 27th at 11: 30 a.m. at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere.
