Obituary

Well respected horseman passes
Mr. Allan P. Lawson "Pete", 76, of Woodbury passed away peacefully after a long illness at home with his devoted wife, Jan, of 42 years along with his faithful dog "Pup" by his side.
Pete was born November 5, 1934 in Waterbury, a son of the late Allan P. and Irene (Poulin) Lawson, Sr. He was raised in Middlebury and attended Middlebury and Waterbury schools. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. "Semper Fi" and retired from Northeast Utilities after 38 years of service. He then worked from First Student school bus company.
Pete was an avid horseman, he loved his horses and the western lifestyle. He was a horseshow judge for over forty years, officiating at shows throughout New England and New York and as far away as Texas. Pete loved nature and all of God's creatures.
He will be sorely missed by all that knew him. Happy trails Pete.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Robert Lawson and his wife Joan of Waterbury and James Lawson of Morris, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 3 step daughters, Tina Shibles of North Carolina, Marina Mudry of Derby and Donna Cadoret of Seymour, 2 sisters Mary Jane Regan and Bernadette Ouimette, both of Naugatuck and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Pattianne (Lawson) Jacobson and 2 brothers, Edward Lawson and Victor Lawson.
