MIDDLEBURY- Mrs. Alice Catherine (Carragan) Sicard, 86, of 269 Kissewaug Rd. died Thursday December 14, 2006 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph Paul Sicard.

Mrs. Sicard was born March 20, 1920 in Middlebury, daughter of the late John and Katherine (Radigan) Carragan. She was employed by Lewis Engineering in Naugatuck, for 40 years, retiring in 1982 as Instrument Assembly Supervisor. She was a member of A.A.R.P. and the Humane Society. She loved and enjoyed her family, the Mets, and televised sports, including baseball and college basketball, Go Huskies. Her favorite pastimes were playing set back and Mai Jong.


Mrs. Sicard was the oldest continuous communicant of St. John of the Cross Church.

She leaves a sister Agnes Bolger of Cromwell, CT. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, who she cared for as a second mom. She also leaves her beloved feline companion of 15 years, Smokey the Cat.

Mrs. Sicard was predeceased by a brother John Carragan and a sister Margaret Fenn.

Funeral: St. John of the Cross

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Church, Middlebury.

Visitation: Friends may call the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere; 235 Main St. North on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
