Alice Rosalind Mason passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at The Hearth assisted living facility in Southbury, CT where she had resided since November 2013. She was born on March 31, 1927 in Port Chester, NY, the only child of Rosalind and George Moore. She graduated from Greenwich High School in Greenwich, CT and the Katharine Gibbs Business School in New York City and worked in the city for several years prior to her marriage to Gerald Mason in December 1948. She lived in Greenwich until 1989 when she and her husband retired to the waterfront home on Flying Point in Freeport, ME they had purchased years earlier.

In addition to raising a family in Greenwich, Alice worked in various capacities, including for the Town on Greenwich Commission on Aging. She was also a long time member of the Port Chester, NY Presbyterian Church and a Girl Scout leader. After retirement to ME, she became a community volunteer and an active member of the First Parish Congregational Church in Freeport and the Freeport Woman's Club. She later attended and sang in the choir of the Mid-Coast Presbyterian Church in Topsham, ME.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald in 2000 and her younger daughter, Ann Mason-Osann in 2001. She is survived by daughter, Rosalind Harris of Danbury, CT, son-in-law, Richard Osann and his wife Rosemary of Buxton, ME and by four grandchildren, Rachel and William Harris and Timothy and Emily Mason-Osann.

Services: A memorial service will be held at the Mason home on Flying Point during the summer. Graveside services will be private, with burial in Flying Point Cemetery, Freeport, ME.
