Obituary

Alice M. Hoxie passed away peacefully in her home on November 24th, 2024 to be reunited with her husband and "love of her life" Robert E. Hoxie. She was 82 years old.

Born in Queens, New York to John Joseph and Miriam Brennan Costello on July 7th, 1942 she spent the majority of her childhood growing up in Garden City, New York, where she eventually met her "Bob".

Alice went on to Dunbarton College of the Holy Cross in Washington DC as an education and language major.

Together with her husband and children, life brought her from New Jersey to Connecticut, going through Parsippany, Rockaway, and Mount Laurel in New Jersey, to Brookfield, New Milford, and finally Southbury, Connecticut.

She was a lifelong teacher, opening El Primer Paso, a Spanish preschool in Dover, New Jersey and becoming a special education teacher at Brookfield High school.

Alice and Bob traveled the world together along with their two children. Alice had many fond memories of the year that she and Bob lived in Paris, France near the Eiffel Tower.

Alice loved all holidays, especially Christmas with her family. She always made sure her house was decorated for every occasion. Alice also loved her many hobbies including traveling and playing cards. She participated in the Women's Club of Brookfield, the Woodbury Bridge Club, and was a former president of the Candlewood Lions Club.
