NEW BRITAIN- Mrs. Alice M. (Tweedy) Gilbert, 67 of New Britain, died Saturday, October 28, 2006 at New Britain General Hospital after battling cancer.

Mrs. Gilbert was born July 9, 1939 in Patterson, NY and lived most of her life in Thomaston, previously living in Terryville. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to help others. She will be loved and missed dearly and always in our hearts.

She is survived by her children: John Gilbert if New York state, Robert Gilbert, Jr. of Bristol, Audrey Atwater of Fort Kent ME, James Gilbert of 282 North Main St., Thomaston, Frances Gilbert of Bristol and Holly Gilbert of New Britain, 2 brothers, Albert Voght and John Steary, 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Services: A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 2 School St

Visitation: Friends may call the funeral home on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
