Dr. Alex Huxley Westfried, 94, of 289B Heritage Village died Sunday, January 5, 2014 in the arms of his beloved wife Betania Westfried. He was born December 17, 1919 in Manhattan, New York. He was a graduate of Williams College and received his PhD from Syracuse University. Dr. Westfried was a World War II Air Force Veteran. He was a longtime professor at Western Connecticut State University and the author of several books. His son is Dr. Eric Mason Westfried of Durango, Colorado and his daughter is Maria Alexander Westfried of Antigua, Guatemala. His step-daughter is Ticiana Queiroz dos Guaranys Rego of Salvador de Bahia, Brazil.
