Al was born on August 19, 1944, in Waterbury, CT and grew up in Roxbury CT before moving to Washington CT. He lived a life devoted to family, faith and community.

Al took immense pride in his work at the First Congregational Church of Washington, CT where he worked as the church’s sexton since 1995. He also started and facilitated the local New Beginnings support group to help single adults find purpose and wholeness in all dimensions of their lives. It is also here, on the Green in Washington that he lived for the past 31 years. Through the church and his community, he developed many cherished friendships that were so important to him.

He was affectionately known to his grandchildren as Pop Pop. He loved attending the sporting events of all of his grandchildren, always wearing his beloved “Pop Pop” hat on the sidelines. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and UConn Men’s and Women’s Basketball.

Al will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
