Obituary

Mr. Albert "Abbott" Sears, 63, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness.
Abbott was born November 15, 1950 in Bridgeport and lived in the Southbury/Newtown area. He was an Army veteran and worked as a truck driver for most of his life. He is survived by his children, Wendy Sears, Mary Martin, Cindy Sears and Joey & Amanda,6 grandchildren, including Jackie and Samantha Pietrafesa, Crystal Purcaro, Brianna and JD Daisey and Jakob Sears and one great grandchild, Alexis Purcaro. as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father William & Anna (Magliochetti) Sears, two brothers, William (Butch) Sears & Charlie Sears and one sister Bobbie Sears. Also survived by his former wife, Mary Sears who helped take care of him during the last six years of his life.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with the funeral costs.

Cemetery: Pine Hill Cemetery

Location: Munson-Lovetere Southbury

Services: Graveside services with Military Honors will be held Friday, November 7 at 11: 00 a.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery, Southbury.

Visitation: Calling hours are on Thursday November 6, from 6-8 p.m. at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson Lovetere, 235 Main St. North.
