Agnes Urbanowicz, 92, of Southbury, died peacefully Friday, February 13, 2009 at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of the late Edward Urbanowicz.

Mrs. Urbanowicz was born January 12, 1917 in Johnstown, PA, daughter of the late John Yambor and Anna Gajdos .She was a sales associate with Bloomingdales for many years. Mrs. Urbanowicz has resided in Southbury for the past 3 years, previously living in Stamford for many years. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Stamford. She loved cooking, reading and playing bingo and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.

She leaves a son, Edward John Urbanowicz of Oxford and three daughters, Sylvia Yagielski of Southbury, Dorothy Gustafson of Oxford and Janet Grassanovich of South Dartmouth, MA. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Scott and Keith Gustafson, Janice Sumner, Sheila Grassanovich, Amy MacDonald, Kellyjean and Edward Urbanowicz and one great grandchild, Jayden Grace Urbanowicz and three additional great grandchildren in Colorado.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Eric Gustafson and three sisters.

Location: Munson-Lovetere Southbury

Services: A private service was held at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North. Burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien, CT.

Visitation: There were no calling hours.
