Obituary

Agnes Lucy (Prokop) Oczkowski, 80, of Oxford entered into eternal rest Monday, March 25, 2013 with her loving children surrounding her as she passed peacefully in her sleep at Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of Edward F. Oczkowski, the love of her life. She was born in Waterbury, CT January 17, 1933 daughter of the late Veronica (Zlotnik) and William Bronislaus Prokop. A lifelong resident of Oxford, raised on Towantic Hill Dairy Farm, she attended Christian St. School then graduated from Seymour HS class of 1951. She was a lifelong member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
She worked as a waitress at The Garden Gate, The Oxford House and the Colonial Club eventually opening up her very own bakery. She worked at the Greater Bridgeport Mental Health Center and also served as Justice of the Peace. She loved the harmony of music and loved to sing. She loved to laugh. She loved flowers from the garden and the clouds in the sky. She also loved to dance with Dad. Most of all, she loved her children and grandsons, her several loving nieces and nephews, all of her good friends, especially Murph, Jane B., Phyllis B., and Jane O. and Tinker, her faithful companion.
She is survived by her daughters Susan Oczkowski, Debra Oczkowski and Robert Sautter, Katherine and husband Gordon Gramolini and her son Mark and wife Patty, and two cherished grandsons Matthew and Lukas Oczkowski.
She was predeceased by her son "Little" Edward Jr., her brothers Frank, Joseph and Edward Prokop and her sisters Stacia Korowotny and Wanda Domozych.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 1463 Highland Ave., Cheshire, CT 06410-1216.

Cemetery: Southford Cemetery

Location: Munson-Lovetere Southbury

Funeral: St. Thomas the Apostle

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 11: 00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road, Oxford. Burial will follow in Southford Cemetery, Oxford.

Visitation: Calling hours will be held Tuesday morning from 8 to 10: 30 a.m. at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North.
