SOUTHBURY- Agnes Ella (Wishart) Chapman, 90, of Southbury, died Saturday, July 16, 2011 at her home. She was the wife of the late Robert D. Chapman.
Mrs. Chapman was born May 26, 1921 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late James and Jane (Bennett) Wishart. She has resided in Southbury for the past 14 years, previously living in Roxbury and also the Weston and Westport areas for many years. Mrs. Chapman was a volunteer at the Glebe House in Woodbury, a docent at the Beardsley Zoo and was an award winning Master Gardner. She was active in the River Garden Club at Heritage Village and enjoyed the opera and its' music and was an avid animal lover.
She leaves a daughter Barbara J. Chapman of Southbury, a son Peter R. Chapman of Bedford, MA and a sister, Margaret W. Ramsey and her husband Rev. Thomas Ramsey of Chambly, Quebec Canada, three granddaughters, Danya J. Lett, Caitlin and Kelsey Chapman, one great granddaughter, Layla Jane Larzalere, one niece, Alison Ramsey and a nephew, David Ramsey.
