Thomas J. Daversa, 88, passed away on Oct. 17, 2019 in Woodbury with his beloved wife Nellie and daughter Maria by his side. He was born on Mar. 5, 1931 in Waterbury, son of the late Patsy and Margaret (Cirelli) Daversa.
Thomas graduated from Russell School and Leavenworh High School. After graduating he enlisted in the Marine Corps, 2nd Marine Air Wing at Cherry Point North Carolina to become an aviation mechanic. He was assigned to overhaul and repair squadron Navy & Marine Corps aircraft twin engine all weather fighters. Thomas retired from Eversource after 45 years as a Service Department Chief. He was an active member of the American Legion and the Mens Club of St. Teresa of Avila Church.
Thomas leaves his wife of 62 years Nellie (Baranauskas) Daversa, his daughter Maria Daversa, a sister Lucille (Nick) Fusco, many nieces and nephews who will all miss him dearly.
Visitation will be on Monday October 21, 2019 from 10 – 10:45 AM at Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School St. Woodbury, Ct. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 146 Main St. S., Woodbury. Burial will follow at New North Cemetery.
