Eric,
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. She was a wonderful person and a talented artist and we were always together in high school. When we were fourteen or so we used to sit in her bedroom upon the rug she made. It had a big tree with birds and I thought it was beautiful just like she was. I had many good times with her and great memories. She will be sorely missed.
