Robert C Stroby

Robert (Bob) Charles Stroby, 61 of Middlebury, CT passed away peacefully Friday, April 6, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. 

Robert was born January 18, 1957 in Bayonne, New Jersey, the son of the late Charles Robert and Eileen Marie (Smith) Stroby. 

He attended Marlboro High School in Marlboro, New Jersey and continued his education at Teterboro School of Aeronautics in Teterboro, New Jersey.  After receiving his Airframe and Powerplant license from Teterboro in 1979, he accepted a position with Sikorsky Aircraft where he was employed for the past 39 years.  He began his career as an Aircraft Mechanic continuing to work his way up to Crew Chief on many different projects, helped create the first Sikorsky Helicopter Mechanic School and most recently was the Presidential Hangar Manager.  

Robert was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He touched many lives and did so much for his family, and will always be remembered for his compassion and devotion.

Besides his wife Joanne of 38 years, Robert is survived by his daughters Kelly Schivera and her husband Wesley, Lauren Fraser and her husband, Kenneth along with his son Brian Stroby and his significant other Katie Mucherino.  He will greatly be missed by his three loving grandchildren, Shea Elizabeth and Eli Robert Schivera and Maxwell James Fraser.   He also leaves behind several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 4 pm to 8pm at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main Street North, Southbury, CT.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at East Cemetery, Litchfield, CT for an 11:00 a.m. burial.
