Nancy Montague Hotchkiss, resident of Southbury, formerly longtime resident of Watertown, passed away on December 12 at the age of 94. Born on June 1, 1924 in Waterbury, she was the daughter of the late Hobert T. and Genevieve H. Montague. Nancy attended St. Margaret’s School and Bennett Jr. College. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The Rhode Island School of Design with a major in clothing and fashion. Nancy worked for 35 years in retail for Outdoor Traders and Tweeds and Tees in Litchfield, serving as manager for many years. She was an active volunteer at The Waterbury Junior League, Waterbury Hospital, Friends of the Watertown Library, The Watertown Foundation and most recently, The Watermark at East Hill Library. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, John C. Hotchkiss (Jack), sons John, Jr. (Patricia) and William (Alan Yates), daughter Janet Segal (Howard), granddaughters Sarah Chilcott (Jason), Meghan Hotchkiss, Erin Vickory and Jennifer Stevenson (Alan) and three great grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held by the family.
