Mildred J. (DeVito) Hauser, 81, of Woodbury, CT., Beloved Wife of the late Peter J. Hauser for 51 years passed away on September 14, 2019. Born in New York City, September 1, 1938 to Frank R. and Catherine (Rinaudo) DeVito.
Millie was educated at the Mary Louis Academy and Adelphi University and was presented at the de Marillac Cotillion at the Garden City Hotel in 1956. She was a Division Leader at CYO Day Camp in Whitestone, NY where she met her husband and made several lifelong friends. Millie taught elementary school in New York City and Dayton, Ohio, and was a Paraprofessional at the Woodbury Middle School for 23 years, where she introduced the Robotics program and formed the Union for Paraprofessionals.
Millie enjoyed traveling. She visited 49 states and many countries in Europe and the Caribbean. She was a passionate fan of both the New York Mets and UConn Women’s Basketball. Millie enjoyed organizing gatherings, cooking, and playing bridge. She was artistic and creative and had a flair for making beautiful gifts. Millie had a warm and loving heart.
Millie is survived by her daughters Karen Hauser Padowan of Napa, CA and Julianne Hauser of Woodbury, CT, as well as her son-in-law Christopher Padowan of Napa, CA. The greatest joy in Millie’s life was her grandchildren, Lucas, Chase, and Payton Padowan. She was blessed with many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sister, Marie DeVito.
Condolences may offered on September 23, 2019 from 8:30 to 10:30 am at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Homes, 2 School St. Woodbury. The Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 146 Main St S, Woodbury. Burial will be at 2:00 pm at the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown.
