Lois Horn Zeidler 81, of Southbury, CT. Beloved wife of Rudolf. Born March 21, 1937 in Montreal to Harry and Anne Horn. Received her BA in Education from McGill University. Worked as an executive in a construction firm and a partner in a management consulting firm. A Woman of Valor, a role-model, mentor and friend, she was dedicated to the synagogue and Jewish community locally, nationally and internationally. She was a past president of two temples (Temple Beth Am of Bayonne, NJ and Or Chadash of Hunterdon County, NJ) and a past First Lady of B’nai Israel of Southbury, where she chaired several committees of the congregation and its Sisterhood. She also served as a past trustee of the Jewish Federation of Western, CT and past Treasurer of the Southbury Jewish Center, LLC. Lois likewise served on the Board of Directors of the Women of Reform Judaism, the Executive Board of the World Union for Progressive Judaism, and she chaired the WUPJ’s North American Board. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children Laura Galdmez, Adam Offenhartz, and Steven (Susan) Offenhartz; stepchildren Helen Kornick (Phillip), Leon Zeidler (Jennifer); and Edmund Zeidler; grandchildren Jonathan Galdmez and Jack Offenhartz; and step grandchildren Jack Zeidler, Brandon Zeidler, and Aaron Kornick. She was predeceased by her step granddaughter Heather Kornick and her sister Sheila Bisaillon. The funeral service will be on Monday, August 13 at 11 AM at B’nai Israel, 444 Main Street North, Southbury, followed by burial at Farband Cemetery, Morris.
