Linda Dirzius Obituary

Linda L. Dirzius, 67, of Southbury, CT passed away in the comfort of her own home on Sunday, August 25, 2019 in the presence of her family. She was the beloved wife of James F. Dirzius.

Linda was one of nine children, born on January 17, 1952 in Bridgeport, CT., to the late Joseph and Belva Gambino. She attended Andrew Warde High School in Fairfield, CT.

She spent her life working in home health care, helping those who were unable to help themselves.

Linda was a woman who truly loved everyone, making anyone in her presence feel welcome. She loved talking, and would strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere.  She was an amazing cook, known for her delicious sauce and meatballs. Linda loved spending time at home with her friends and family. She was proud of the huge collection of angels she amassed over the years and displayed them in every room of her house. Linda loved the outdoors, and spent most of her time in her backyard feeding the birds, listening to her wind chimes, and gardening.

Linda just loved life. No matter what situation she found herself in, especially dealing with a plethora of health issues and the loss of her son, she always exuded strength, confidence, and positivity. She was always everyone’s cheerleader, constantly encouraging and rooting for others.

Linda is survived by her husband of 36 years, James F. Dirzius, of Southbury, CT; her daughters Theresa Burhans of Southbury, CT and Kristen Ricciardone and husband Pasquale Ricciardone of Southbury, CT; her grandchildren Jonathan Burhans and Noah Ricciardone; her brothers Dominic Gambino of Waterbury, CT, Arthur Gambino and his wife Mary Lou, of Fairfield, CT; her sister Michelle Previs of Bridgeport, CT; her two fur-babies, Luigi and Bella, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She is predeceased by her beloved son Lawrence Burhans, and her five brothers Joseph Jr., Robert, Jack, Michael, and Albert Gambino.

Linda will be dearly missed and remembered as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.
