Kathleen (Circola) Piselli

Kathleen Piselli died suddenly on Saturday, July 29, 2017, in Woodbury, CT. She was born on October 6, 1927, to Fred and Mae Circola in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from Brooklyn College in 1948, helping to build the local Kappa Delta chapter there. Leaving aside her first major, chemistry, she graduated with a degree in English, working on Water Street in lower Manhattan in publishing before marrying John Piselli in 1952. After raising their three children in Great Neck, NY, the couple retired to Woodbury, CT in 1986. There she enjoyed travel, mah jongg, gardening, and holding costume parties. She also put her chemistry background to good use making jewelry. She was active in the Woodbury Hill Condominium Association, the Friends of the Woodbury Public Library, and the transportation volunteers of FISH. She will be missed by her son, John Piselli and his wife, Patty, of Jacksonville, FL; her daughter, Kathyanne Piselli of Atlanta, GA; her son, Matthew Piselli of NYC; and her grandchildren, Cora McLean, Alana Piselli, Johnny Piselli and Michael Piselli, as well as many friends. Interment will be at noon at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown, CT, where she will join her husband of 64 years, laid to rest there on August 28, 2016.
