Karl William Haeusgen , 76, of Woodbury, CT passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Karl was born on April 13, 1942 in Danbury, CT, son of the late Karl Otto and Lottie Haeusgen. He graduated from Bethel High School and attended Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT. Karl proudly served in the US Navy from 1962-1966 on the USS Newport News based in Virginia. He retired from SNET where he served as Vice President, President and Business Agent for Local #103. During his retirement Karl worked at FedEx, LaBonne's Market and Mystic KOA. Karl enjoyed spending his summers with his family at their Rhode Island cottage, golfing and going to the beach. He also enjoyed telling stories about the Navy. He was an avid Giants and Yankee fan. Most of all, Karl had an undying love for his family.
Karl will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Jacqueline Haeusgen, his son Jason Haeusgen and wife Jacqueline, his daughters Jodi Haeusgen and Jaime Haeusgen. Karl will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Matthew Haeusgen, Michael Haeusgen, Emily Haeusgen, Abigail Haeusgen, Alexa Spain, Avah Charles and by his sister Karen Pelletier.
A celebration of Karl's life will be held on Friday, August 24th, from 4-7 pm at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School Street, Woodbury, CT. A prayer service will begin at 4:30 and military honors at 4:45 pm.
