Josephine Anne Baker, 87, of Southbury, CT, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Skyview Nursing Home.
Josephine was born May 20, 1930 in Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Frank and Cecilia (Scala) Liscio. She is survived by her sister Ann Giulini of Hackensack, NJ, her children Thomas Baker of Cheshire, CT, Andrew Baker of N. Tonawanda, NY, Raymond Baker of Oxford, CT, Ellen Dages of Bethel, CT, and Celia Feramisco of Thousand Oaks, CA, and her grandchildren Lauren Baker, Christopher Baker, John Baker, Jessica Baker, Brian Baker, Thomas Baker, Scott Dages and Lindsay Feramisco.
She is preceded by her brother Frank Liscio Jr. of Yonkers, NY, and former husband John McAllister Baker, Jr. of Brookfield, CT.
Josephine was a homemaker and longtime Connecticut resident. She raised her family in Brookfield, and was very active with St. Joseph Church and prayer group. She later lived in Danbury, Oxford and Southbury, actively participating in various garden clubs, book clubs, Senior Concerns and The Red Hat Society. Josephine always had a smile on her face, and her laugh could be heard far and wide. She was a very positive person who will be missed by all who knew her.
A wake will be held Friday February 2, 2018 6-8 P.M. at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main Street North, Southbury, CT 06488.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, 11:00 A.M. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road, Oxford, CT 06478.
