James Patrick Kelley, 82, of Woodbury, CT, formerly of Shelton, passed away peacefully Friday, April 27, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was the husband for 59 years of Maryann (Shpak) Kelley.
James was born on April 13,1936 in Bridgeport, CT. He was the son of the late James Peter and Anne Kelley. James was a National Guardsman, and worked his entire 39-year career at the United Illuminating Company, starting as a meter-reader and working his way up to management. James was a life long devout Catholic, and active member of Prince of Peace Parish. He greatly enjoyed watching the New York Giants and New York Yankees, as well as listening to country music. However, what he loved most was spending time with his wife and family. He will always be remembered for his patience, wisdom, kindness, optimism, warm smile, and loving heart.
James is survived by his sister, Kathleen Kelly and her husband Charles; his daughters Kim DiTerlizzi and her husband Frank, Terry Campo and her husband Arnold; and his sons James Kelley and his wife Irene, and Patrick Kelley and his wife Shannon. He will be greatly missed by his ten loving grandchildren Tommy, Nikki, Samm, Kasey, Kylie, Zac, Gabe, Jake, Shannon, and Meg; as well as his 10 great-grandchildren Alyssa, Thomas (Bubba), Kenna, Maddison, Taylor, Riley, Haley, Addaley, John, and Jaxon.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 5pm to 8pm at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School St, Woodbury, CT. A mass in his honor will be held at 10am on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 146 Main Street S, Woodbury, CT. followed by a burial at Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby, CT.
