Helen Theresa Taylor, 92, died peacefully in her sleep on May 3, 2019, in Southbury. She was born to the late George and Mary Banner on February 11, 1927 in Glasgow, Scotland. At age twenty one, she immigrated to the USA with her husband, the late Charles (Chuck) Taylor and their baby daughter, settling in Stamford, CT where they raised their growing family. Helen and Chuck shared a passion for historic home and building renovation and together developed award-winning projects in Fairfield County.
She was devoted to her family. From her seventy year marriage, her greatest joy came from her three children, Heather Daltrey of Sussex, England, Glenn Taylor of Southbury, and Malcolm Taylor (deceased) of Arlington, Vermont and their spouses, her eight grandchildren and their partners and her eight great-grandchildren with one more on the way this summer. Helen had fabulous style and instilled in her family a love of history, music, theatre, fashion and art. Great storytellers, conversationalists and true, original characters, Helen and Chuck were loved by all. Our family was blessed to have had Granny with us for so long. Special gratitude to Maria who nursed and cared for her so lovingly in her final years. God Bless Granny. To leave an online condolence please visit www.munsonloveterefuneralhome.com.
