Gordon Anthony Gereg, 79, of Woodbury, Connecticut passed away on Tuesday, May 8th in his home after a lengthy illness. He was born on August 17, 1938 in Bethel, Connecticut son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Kowalski) Gereg. After graduating Bethel High School in 1956 he received a degree in engineering from the University of Connecticut and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He worked for Barden, Air Products, and DuPont, as well as starting his own business John B. Adams, where he manufactured some of his many patented medical devices. He was active in the Bethel High School Alumni Association and was a member of many engineering societies. Gordon is survived by his wife of 57 years Carol (Blackburn) Gereg, sons Matthew Gereg of Southington, Connecticut and Christopher Gereg and his wife Aska of New York City, New York and grandchildren Colin and Megan Gereg. He is also survived by brother, Charles (Peggy) Gereg and sister Joan Bradley.
Calling hours will be on Friday May 11, 2018 from 6pm to 8pm at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School St, Woodbury, CT. A Mass in his honor will be held at 9am Saturday, May 12th, 2018 at St. Teresa of Avila Church 146 Main Street, Woodbury, CT and a burial will be at the convenience of the family.
