Christine M. Mace,75, passed away peacefully and with dignity on December 23, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury surrounded by loved ones. Christine was born on December 19, 1943 to Rita J. Mallon and Francis C. Mallon in Bronx, NY. She was the oldest of 5 children. Christine attended The Academy of Mt. St. Ursula’s in Bronx, NY.
On September 18, 1965, Christine married Linn E. Mace. In 1967, the couple moved to Woodbury, CT where Christine lived the remainder of her life. Upon becoming a mother, Christine chose to stay at home and dedicate her life to raising her family. She was involved in the community: Girl Scout Leader, Boy Scout Leader, local school volunteer, Junior Women’s Club, Columbiettes, various PTO’s, FISH, March of Dimes…When her own children had grown up, she continued to help other children, choosing to become a paraprofessional in the Region 14 School District.
Christine’s faith and her family were very important to her. She was an active member of St. Teresa’s Church, Woodbury. She was a Catechism teacher, a Eucharistic minister, and a member of the Women’s Guild. Her family was most important. She loved them all, making sure she attended all concerts, plays, sports games…Christine especially loved her grandchildren, putting them above all others. In her eyes, she could never spend enough time with them.
Christine is survived by her husband of 53 years, Linn E. Mace of Woodbury, CT; her son Linn E. Mace II and his wife Debbie of Danbury, CT; her daughter Christine L. Mace of Bristol, CT; her son Francis L. Mace and his wife Tia of Arlington, VA; her daughter Lara E. Brown and her husband Matthew of Waterbury, CT; her grandchildren Donell Battle, Kayla Battle, Brianna Battle, Elijah Brown, and Macee Brown; and many friends.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Teresa’s Church, 146 Main Street South, Woodbury, CT 06798.The family is asking, in lieu of flowers, that a donation be made to the American Diabetes Foundation in Christine’s honor.
