Cheryl Greenwood

Cheryl Greenwood, 71, of Southbury, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, surrounded by loved ones on November 13, 2017.

Born April 23, 1946 in Vermont, she was the beloved wife of Geoffrey for 27 years. She is survived by her children, David Charest and his wife, Ann Marie of Bantam, Darlene Charest of Bethlehem, and her grandchildren Alex & Ben Niez-Charest, her many nieces and nephews, and her siblings, Dale Allen and Lois Belair. In addition she was very much loved as “Memaw” to Catherine, Brian and Riley. She will be missed by her many friends and family.

Cheryl worked for the State of Connecticut for 26 years. She loved time spent in her kitchen with her husband, baking and cooking. She was an avid gardener and loved nature and the outdoors. She spent many hours on her porch watching wildlife. She was an adoring Mom to her cat Bumpkin. Cheryl’s friends and family knew to respect her time at noon every day, so she could watch her favorite soap opera, The Young and the Restless.

A memorial service will be held in the Spring at her family’s discretion. In lieu of flowers, honor Cheryl by taking time to be outdoors and enjoy the beauty in nature.
