Carmel J. (Shaha) Srenaski

Carmel J. (Shaha) Srenaski, 92, passed away peacefully at the Lutheran Home in Southbury on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 after a lengthy illness. She was born November 30, 1925 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to the late Clarence and Anna (Dreier) Shaha. She was the loving wife of the late Edward J. Srenaski for over 40 years till his passing in 1984.

Carmel, her husband and family lived throughout the country in Neenah and Menasha, Wisconsin, Sunnyside, Washington and Modesto, California before settling in Ridgefield, CT in 1968. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, craft projects and mostly spending time with her grandsons. She was a kind, caring and very sweet woman to all who were fortunate to know her.

Carmel is survived by her four children, Michael Srenaski of Fresno, CA; Steven (Gina) Srenaski of Madison, WI; Timothy (Patricia) Srenaski of Woodbury, CT; and Lisa Srenaski of Danbury, CT; her brother Bruce (Ursula) Shaha of DeRidder, LA and her sister Carla Althaus of Sherwood, WI.

She was a devoted and loving grandmother to her three grandsons, Shane (Jennifer) Srenaski of Fresno, CA; Andrew (Lisa Silva) Srenaski of Bethany, CT; Alexandre Srenaski of Danbury, CT; and 2 great-grandchildren Michael and Annabel Srenaski of Fresno, CA.

Carmel was predeceased by her sister Cyrena Srenaski and her daughter-in-law Barbara Srenaski.

Calling hours are Friday July 13, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School St., Woodbury, CT. Burial will be at noon on Saturday July 14, 2018 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ridgefield, CT.
