Ann M (McKay) Peterson

Ann M. Peterson, formerly of New Preston, CT., passed away Thursday, November 15 at Middlesex Hospital. She was born July 2, 1929, daughter of the late William D. and Grace M. McKay. A long-time resident of New Preston, Pat graduated from Washington High School, class of 1947. She earned her nursing degree at St. Francis School of Nursing and went on to work at New Milford Hospital, Southbury Training School and Fairfield Hills Hospital prior to her retirement in 1985.

Pat is survived by her children: Mark and Bonnie Ognan of Ashford, CT., Deborah Lloyd of Fort Pierce, FL., Kevin Ognan and Lisa Tringali of Portland, CT., Karen Ognan and Sean Lambert of Bellevue, WA., Brian Ognan of Woodbury, CT., and Peter Peterson of Glens Falls, NY.; her grandchildren: Kiya Ognan, Rhett , Ryan and Cameron Lloyd, Edward Ognan, Matthew and Jesse Pearson, and Anders, Gracia and Robert Peterson; and her great-grandchildren: Faith and Destiny Ognan and Layla and Julie Lloyd. She is also survived by siblings Martin and Kathleen McKay, Beverly McKay and numerous nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband Ernest Peterson and her brothers Bill and Jack McKay.

Pat was an active member of the parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church for over 65 years. She will be remembered for her lasagna, her love of card playing and the Mets, and her undying devotion to her family and her faith. 

There will be a memorial mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Washington, CT., on Saturday, November 24 at 11:30AM, followed by interment at New Preston Cemetery on Baldwin Hill Rd., New Preston, and a gathering of family and friends at the Washington Town Hall, Washington Depot, CT..
