Allen D. Hall, of Southbury, CT, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2019. Allen was born February 18, 1932 in Buffalo, NY. He was the son of the late Elliot and Marjorie Hall. He spent his childhood in Dedham, MA eventually settling in Rye, NY. He was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan and shared his memories of the Red Sox and Fenway Park with all who would listen! He was educated at Rye Country Day School, Rye High School and graduated from SUNY Brockport and the University of Bridgeport in CT. Allen loved teaching and coaching and spent most of his career as the Athletic Director at the Rye country Day School while raising his family in Greenwich, CT. In retirement he enjoyed consulting with private schools as they built their Physical Education programs. Allen leaves his daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Walter Pitman of Southbury, four grandchildren: Alex Pitman, Richard Pitman, Sarah D’Autilio and Laura Shinney (Bill Shinney) and a great grandson, Liam Shinney, his former son-in-law Richard D’Autilio as well as his former sister-in-law Alice Hall, nieces and nephew: Andree Christman, Diana Hall and John Hall. He was predeceased by his wife, Jane Hall and his daughter Barbara D’Autilio, his brother Gordon Hall and his mother and father.
A graveside memorial service will be held on September 19, 2019 at the Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, New York at 1:00 P.M. Arrangements are being made by Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, Southbury.
