Donald Edmond Milot, of Southbury, Ct, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2020, after a brief illness. Son of Charles and Mary Milot, Don was born on August 10th, 1938 in Waterbury, Ct, the second of four children. After graduating from Crosby High School, Class of 1956, Don served in the Army Reserves. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Fairfield University in 1960.
Don lived a full life spending most of his career as a Human Resources executive, as well as, teaching at Waterbury State Technical College. Don ended his career by teaching at Kaynor Tech in Waterbury. Don was known for his unrelenting sense of humor, pulling pranks on friends and relaxing at the Elks Club. He also loved playing golf and watching sports (Red Sox, NY Giants) with his family.
He was married to the late Carmela (Ciminera) Milot for 41 years and is survived by his two daughters, Janice Bickerstaff and her husband Dennis of Middlebury and Charlene Giacin and her husband Richard of Needham, MA as well as his five grandsons, John, Alec, Ryan, Christopher and Anthony and his step-grandsons Adam, Jonathan and James.
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles & Mary Milot, his daughter Mary Ellen Grom, his sister Barbara Pronovost, his brother in-law Gary Havican and his nephews Francis, William and Thomas Pronovost . He also leaves behind his sister Peggy Havican, his sister Carol and her husband Paul Iadarola, and his nephews Robert, Lucian and Michael Pronovost, Gary Havican, Dennis Iadarola and the loving families.
Our family would like to thank the generous and caring staff of the Hospital of Central Connecticut and its Cancer Center and all of the amazing caregivers who treated Don so well while he was there.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St. South, Southbury. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 5-8 pm at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main Street North, Southbury, CT 06488.
