Anthony Licursi Obituary

Anthony G Licursi, 88 died Monday morning at New Milford Hospital. He was born April 23, 1935 in Danbury CT, son of Luigi and Lena (Testanero) Licursi.

Anthony attended St. Peters School, and Danbury High School Graduating in 1953. Following graduation, he served in the US Army for 2 years followed by the US Reserves.

Anthony was married to his wife Alice (Bourdeau) Licursi on June 21st, 1969, and they would have been celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary this coming June.

Anthony worked for UPS as a supervisor and then, a heavy road construction driver for Teamster’s Local Union 677 for approximately 30 years. After retiring from the Teamster’s, he went to work for Hollandia Nursery in Bethel CT as their Mechanic for another 30 years.

Anthony loved trapshooting, golf, woodworking, gardening, fishing, and farming with his late father-in-law.

Anthony volunteered for 40 years at the Bridgewater Fair, belonged to the Wooster Mountain Gun Club, St. Josephs Men’s Club, the CT Antique Machinery Club, Brookfield Lions Club, and the Brookfield Municipal Building Committee.

In addition to his parents, Anthony was predeceased by his two brothers, Joseph, and Anjelo Licursi.

Anthony is survived by his wife Alice, his daughter Alanna Licursi-Rich and her husband Jeffrey Rich, his brothers Vincent Licursi and wife Shirley, his youngest brother Eugene Licursi and many nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of Anthony’s life will be held for the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider a donation in Anthony's memory to either St. Judes or the Special Olympics of Connecticut.
