I just stumbled on this while randomly browsing through Google. I am so sorry to hear this news. I worked with Bill at OMB New York City between 1985 and 1989 when i first came to the USA in my 20s. In retrospect, thirty years later, I now know that Bill was one of the best supervisors one might wish for. A decent, honorable, cheerful man who always looked out for his group's collective and individual best interests. The world would be a much better place if if were populated with more people of his character. Thank you, Mr. McElligott, for being a mentor and an example of how to do the right thing.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any manʼs death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.

Memories of Bill, and his wife to The HV community are forever in my mind! Whether it was a friendly hello, what's happening or noting and seeing his impact on our lives Theatre Guild and his Condo Board. His love of his Irish heritage, its comedy and song will long be remembered by his show for the Celtic Connections club. He embraced life, family, but most of all his wife, Barbara. prayers from all of us, who were blessed by your presence!
