With great sadness, the family announces the passing of Sheila Kowalski on Sunday, February 25, 2018. Born in Kent, England as the youngest of five, she met the love of her life, Benjamin Kowalski, during WWII and came to America as a war bride. Throughout Ben’s military service they were stationed on both coasts and abroad before eventually settling in the Southbury, Connecticut area. Sheila received a degree in Art from Naugatuck Community College and was an award-winning watercolorist. Her love of the arts included playing the organ and piano, conversational French, and ballroom dancing.
She will be remembered by her family, including daughter Karen and husband Terry, son Danny and wife Susan, granddaughter Jenny and husband Gabe, and great-granddaughters Sophie and Lilly, and a host of friends.
Relatives and friends may call at the Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main Street North, Southbury, Connecticut 06488 on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 1pm until 4pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, Connecticut 06470 on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 10:30am.
