Robert K Nettleton

Robert (Bob)K Nettleton, 94, went home to be with the Lord,  March 13, at his home in Woodbury. He was the husband of the late Miriam ( Schwartz) Nettleton. He was predeceased by his first wife, Louise (Sharpe) Nettleton, the mother of his seven children.  Bob was born in Milford, CT,  Aug 22, 1923, the son of Reginald Nettleton and Marguerite ( Grasson) Nettleton. He graduated from Milford High School in 1942. Bob served in the US Navy as a cook and proudly spoke about the special meals the officers would request. He moved the family to Woodbury in 1960. He spent his retirement.between Florida and Woodbury, returning to Woodbury to live out the rest of his life after the death of his second wife, Miriam.  He spent his career in sales. His greatest joy in life beside his family and UCONN basketball was his belief in the Lord, the power of prayer and his love of the Scriptures.

He leaves six children, Shelly Doney ( Bob) of Brantingham, NY, Douglas Nettleton ( Kim) of Charlestown, RI, Mark Nettleton of Richmond, NH, Ronald Nettleton ( Barbara) of Southbury, Bruce Nettleton ( Jeanne) of Woodbury , Janice Creighton ( Don) of Southbury and a son-in law Dick Dwyer.. He leaves 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Betty Davis of Orange and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Yvonne Dwyer, his daughter-in-law Hilary (Ingraham) Nettleton, his brothers Reginald, George, Bruce and his sister, Joan Baltrenas.

The family would like to thank Jadine Nelson for the loving care she provided for Bob for the last several months.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of New Life, 74 Kelly Road, Middlebury, on Saturday April 14th at 2 PM
