Myrna Louise Kamp of Heritage Village in Southbury, CT passed from this life to her eternal home May 11, 2019. She was born January 7, 1935 in Ossining, NY to Theodore (Bud) and Louise Pape Kamp.
She worked for IBM for many years, and retired after serving as a staff member at Nyack College in Nyack, NY. Myrna loved music, played piano, and enjoyed singing throughout her life, both as a soloist and as a member of the Old Mill Singers (Westchester, NY) and the Heritage Village Singers in CT. Because of her compassion for animals, she volunteered at shelters, and rescued and rehabilitated many cats over the years.
Her Christian faith led her to visit the Holy Land, and to participate in a short term mission trip to Uganda. She was an active church member, originally at Ossining (NY) First Baptist Church, and most recently at the Community Chapel in Oxford CT.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include brother Bill (Linda) Kamp of New Milford CT, sister Susan (Doug) Browne of Grove City PA, two nephews and a niece, and their children.
A memorial service will be held on June 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Chapel, 24 Hawley Road, Oxford, CT 06478. Memorial gifts can be sent to the Chapel.
